Nag

Why does the cheerleader let down the team,
Sandman blots out your dreams,
Make a mess if what's clean...

Knocked down by ego,
Forced to agree and let go,
Of the happiness you deflected with your "no's"...

Why can't you be happy, 'stead of complainin',
Whinin' sounds the same as,
When you woke up blamin'...

Them for your bad work day,
Your mom for your birthday,
Everyone in between for today...

Your judgments are so frivolous,
Redundant and ridiculous,
For once will you be serious...

Life really ain't that bad,
Your bitching gets me mad,
So shut your mouth and be glad

GO 4 IT!

I found this person roarin' inside me,
Bustin' me at the seams,
Like crack to a fiend,
If you know what I mean...

Eager to get out,
Hurryin' to break through,
Filled with adrenaline,
I had no clue what to do,

No idea, cuz I'm scared,
Anxious but aware,
This is what takin' risks is alla bout,
No time like the present, to let it out!

No time like the now to start breakin' down,
Walls of intimidation,
Clear away the frustration,
Wipe away all the questions,
Mother may I also mention,

Take a chance, and go all out,
Like a champ, without a doubt,
Do the thing how it does,
No holds bar is now because,

When I'm done, I can ressss,
Cuz I got that off my chessss,
When I'm thu' it's all because,
I Believed in ME,
If no one else does

Mellow

Sit in the cool of the moon,
Relaxing over winding down,
Decompress from the day,
And the dawn,
In between,
Funny how it seems...

Yawnin' deep breaths,
Rest, hang loose like,
Upside down from jungle gyms,
Feeling mellow like slow gin,
Comfy heat mixed with slight wind...

Stuck IN The House!!!

Let's get in a good mood
Stray away from the goings on in the world which we can't avoid,
Although we prepare,
The rest of the world is out there...

Let's talk about things that fill us with laughter,
Over Zoom, Skype or other apps,
No more paranoia,
Put a stop to and alla that...

Talk about the good times,
Like parties, mishaps and shenanigans,
Soon, God Willing we'll have more,
To talk about once again...

Like, not later but soon,
Soon is as God allows,
But for now,  the best thing is,
Isolation resulting in lockdown...

Phone call, chat, postage stamp,
Or stone's throw away,
Pick a nifty method reaching out,
Make someone's day...

Get reacquainted with family by spending quality time,
Make the most of being home,
As apposed to wishing you had time...

Unfortunately recognize strangers,
Who matter most,
Work and school has turned us into familiar, family ghosts...

It might be awkward starting off, not knowing what to do,
Played games and watching movies till,
Your brains turn into goo...

Make a cake even if you're not a baking fan,
Put puzzles on the table that requires,
Helping hands...

Have a conversation about 3 things you would wish for,
If you had three wishes besides,
Spending time outdoors...

Gather up donations, color, play charades,
Tie-dye shirts, Simon Says,
Read a book backwards instead..

There's lots of thing to do inside,
If only you'd imagine,
Keep your spirits up and,
Let not your heart be saddened

Another Random/Wisdom/Thought

Often we find ourselves dealing with highs and lows, from one peak of extreme to the other.

Constantly seeking for balance, peace and commitment in forms that best suit our religious beliefs, personal identity and thought process.

Although we encounter such levels of bliss and chaos, we revisit the formula for sanity and tweak it, trying to achieve tranquility yet again.

Is it possible we experience these moments as a way to work on dealing with something that never goes away instead of trying to eliminate the inevitable?

Then let's assume such an idea and try to PERFECT our responses and prepare ourselves for the next test!

Words...

What's the point of speaking when,

No one's listening,

Too busy bypassing what's coming out of your mouth...

Ducking dodging when they see you comin',

Avoiding conversation because,

It's not interesting,

They can't fallow or,

Don't care to,

Cuz it's you...

Feel like a stranger when I'm at work,

When I'm at home,

Always alone...

Staying occupied with the thoughts in my head,

Prayers that I've said,

All through my silence...

Turning smiles upside down,

Then they beg your pardon,

Politely you accept but,

The truth is your upset...

I guess it a feeling that I'll never get used to,

Although I'm accustomed,

At times I just play dumb...

Random: Deep Down Inside

Speakin' in an unplugged microphone,
Yelling to an empty crowd,
Paying attention to no one,
But the silence of the loud...

Scribble on blank pages with invisible crayons,
Words appearing clear as far as the mind,
Can see...

Reading braille, hands tied behind my back,
Laughing at the punchline from the quiet comedian,
As she cries the heartache of a winner.

So RAndom, So RusTy, BeeN Too LONg

Off the deep end
Pencil, marker, or pen
Gettin spellbound,

Astound, profound,
Verbs other shit and pronouns...

Gotta funny feelin'
Gotta, keep typin,
Trippin' over word semantics,
Lyrical acrobatics,

Not stick shift but, Automatic,
Charismatic must admit
I'm not half bad at it...

Been a while since I've been on,
Thinkin' bout it since I've been gone,
Left for a moment, now I'm back again,
Pick up where I left, let the poems begin...

Not tryin to be cute,
Not tryin to act funny,
Do it for the love,
I ain't makin' no money,

I love's what I do and I
Do what I does,
Glad to be back,
C'mon and show me some
Ear hustling love,

Tell me you missed,
Don't try to kiss me,
Corona's for real,
Grab a mask and shield,

Earbuds, and speakers,
Bobbin' your head,
Hearin the words that come out of my head,
Hearin the words, don't know what to say next,

Ran out of thoughts,
Got me feelin' perplexed,
No time to get vexed,
Blogging virtual text,

No time to stumble,
You know me, I stay humble,
WArming UP and I'm stretchin'
So please pay attention...

I'm a little rusty but,
I'll bounce back quick
Is it just me,
Unique blogger chick

Strenghts Weakness

It takes a woman to make moves,
Woah, man,
I'm making moves,
To defeat and overcome,
Emotional break down of the pendulum,
That swings between tears, fears, and anger,

Stranger to myself of the foreigner I've become,
Ill will undone,
From the shield, I slang from,

Acting too hard as if I was real,
Believed if I played hard enough,
This persona of being tough,
Thick skin and strong posture,

All the while,
The imposter,
Trying hard to hide who I was,
It didn't fit,
Like OJ's glove...

What I recall from days back when,
My front had dropped,
Exposing me again,
The shell I once tried to wear,
My strength in truth,
It could not bear,

It could not hold,
I was too bold,
The fake was an imposter of me,
The me that I am,
The woman I've been,
The joke I played in front of my friends,

I appeared as weak when I tried to be strong,
A front I chose to carry on,
Y'all kept me going,
Egged me on,
For fear intimidating,
Held tounges for too long,
Kept me at bay,
To secure your preception,
Lifes strongest lady,
With true imperfections,

True as I am,
True as I've been,
Regained consciousness,
From the me within,
Y'all still act funny,
Fake smiles and such,
Bracing for the day,
I'd beat you to the punch,

Figured out your apprehension,
Of why you failed to mention,
Standing by witnessing my act,
Playing like I was alla that,
While you watched me carry on,
But the vail would hold for so long,
Now you wanna act surprised,
When the true me poured out from inside.

What happened to being more than friends,
Family's what you labeled me,
Held you close by my right hand,
Thought you held me from the quicksand,

Thought you had my back from being close,
Keep it honest, keep me in line,
All the while you were ghost,
Invisible to the naked eye.

It's alright, I guess I learned,
Everyone, I must discern,
But most of all, I'll never doubt,
Or pretend what I'm about.

Strong like might, huge like damn,
Holding back the might

Life at IT's finess

Can't stop thinking bout you,

miss you when I'm mad,

feel sick when your sad,

kicked you out a thousand times,

but you never left the pad.

love is stickin together and figuring out this life, religious, future, thing,

growin old and actin young thing,

We parents now,

grooming us for life, like we're just born,

learning how to walk, crawl and run, the way mom meant it,

the way it should be done...

I guess that's what our second chance at life is,

settling down and doing the family bid,

Time seems to tick with surprises by the minute,

Life with you is adventurous,

frustrating, exciting, scary and ridiculous.

I love you even when I don't say it,

you're my dream come true,

Thus far, we made it,

i can think of other things but,

this, I won't trade it,

might alter it a little,

learning from mistakes of old,

but then again, nah

cuz the now is our future together unfold,

2 fold, plus ten and so on, plus more,

take a look out the window,

opportunities knockin,

I'll meet you outside,

tie my shoes and start walkin

Sharin', Givin', Learnin'

Why do I give advice I can't take,
Make me feel like I'm fake,
Sound mind at stake...

Pluto, Moon, and Mars,
Light years to the candy bar,
Un-sheath my double-edged sword,
Cuttin' and protectin' on one accord,

Got common sense,
Make wrong decisions,
When my minds right,
I move with precision,

My focus can get blurry,
When I'm in a hurry,
Then I  see what I've done and,
It's kind of scurry,

Seek advice but take my own,
After days of meditation,
Knowledge seeds are planted,
Growin' echoes of vibration,

Feelin pretty spiritual,
Somthin' like a miracle,
Got me so excited,
Got me feelin' slight hysterical,

Captivatin' mind,
Captivatin' mine,
Sharin' words with strangers,
While I'm leadin' from behind,

Lead from Up Above,
Allah's Undying Love,
Pick's me up, when I am down,
Fits tight like OJ's glove,

Still, at times, I wonder,
Why I fall back into slumber,
Daydreamin' of the days,
When I rose from being under,

Reminded of abilities,
Of, come back possibilities,
Plateau on days of good,
Obtain and keep stability,

For now, I'll keep on-goin',
Givin' logical advice,
As the breeze of wisdom's blowin',
Comforting's the sacrifice,

Of knowing that I'll help someone,
In hopes it penetrates,
While in  the state of slumber,
What is given, I can't take.

Balancin' Act!!

I'm a psychopathic kind of sista,
Born as two coy fish,
Swimmin' in circles,
Chasing myself, never catching up...

I'm passionate about things I can't define,
Only to express them through words of mine,

Imprisoned mind, free to roam,
Going the distance and stayin' local,

Loco yet genius,
Extravagant and plus,

Mirror image description of being care and bias...

I'm clingy and cuddle with myself,
Want attention but private,

Spiritually engulfed in Down South holiness,
Actions like Middle East worship...

Migraine in my right brain,
Remedy in my left,

Tortured by second guessin'
Knowin' the answer,

Pickin' on myself to defend it,
Borrowed words cuz I lent them,

Assuming, then ignore until my suspicion was right,

Filled with insecurities,
Confidence surroundin' me,

I am my own worst critic,
Amazed at how wonderful I am...

Dear God,

It's those things,
That make angels cry upon,
Broken wings they fly,
And fall below,

Scattered and tattered,
Scared and bruised,
Can't explain what's the matter,
But it's always you,

Who, lives a life of,
Sacrifice,
Being kind to those who don't play nice,
Don't play fair,

Coin flips in the air,
Lands not in your favor,
Swallow hard and savour,
The sour stinging flavor,

The taste that you're use to,
That makes your breath smell,
Everytime you speak,
They turn their cheek ,

Cuz, your so confused and,
You make no sense,
When sense is common,
At their expense,

Asking God when can you get a break from this,
The weakest link but strong,
Constantly keep it together,
Not knowing just how long,

He's testing to the limits of the tasks that I  can bear,

Complete/ rest/ repeat,
Seems ends sight is nowhere,

Why is this my bid, why's He chosen me,
Filled with much emotion that it's paralyzing me,

What more do I do, to prove my love to you,
Seeking all my days and question if I'm pleasing You ,

I know this life's not my own, and the things at my right hand,

Never bore the last name of another,
Besides the one who I called Dad,

My children are priceless gifts,
My parents love has branded it,
Loved by ones who look like me,
Those born before and after me,

I come to the conclusion that I'm similar to Job,
Accumulated things along the way,
Just to see them go,

I pray that I'm doing this right and You'll be proud of me,

And enter into heavan on the day earth sets me free.

have a GOOD DAY!

DEFINITELY,

It's destined to be,

A wonderful thing that's waiting

FOR me...

On the Contrary,

It's very ordinary,

Impact is Positively,

Ultra-extraordinary...

I feel it in the air,

I feel it in my bones,

Vibe of my surroundings,

Put me in the comfort zone...

In the street or

At home,

In your face,

ON the phone...

Mind over matter,

Monotony shattered,

Grumble and Gripe,

Snuffed out amongst the chatter,

Beneath all the laughter,

Above all the pain,

That's the beat they dancin' to,

Crackin' jokes,

Smilin' too...

I hope you're gettin' yours,

Because this one's all MINE,

So, have a good day,

With PEACE of MIND!

UNIFY!!!

I was raised, Christian,
Converted to Islam,
I knew why I did it,
But had no clue to what was going on…

I listened to people who knew,
Only what they were fed,
Had unanswered questions,
In the back of my head…

I wasn’t told some friends would stray,
Hide down the aisle,
When I came their way,

I think it’s funny,
Cuz, I do it too,
I’ll creep in the store,
Trying to avoid you…

Asking me questions like,
What’s that “thing” on your head,
Can I see your hair,
Are you bald, or have dreads?

A glimpse of my hair will never display,
What lies underneath,
In a physical way…
Cuz, wisdom’s like air,
6th sense, and 3rd eye, visual,
Invisible,
So, I keeps my head wrapped with this material…

Don’t you get hot, when it’s 90 degrees,
All covered up,
Wearing shirts with long sleeve?

90 degrees is still 90 degrees,
Regardless of wearing long or short sleeves,
I thought people shop for all different type fabrics,
Thin & light when it’s hot, thick & heavy change to cold weather dramatic,
Simple concept, mathematics…

You don’t eat pork?
Girl, how do you do it?
I love’s me some ham,
I couldn’t do it…

Leviticus 11:7 & 8,
And Deuteronomy too,
14:8,
Were verses I knew as a Christian,
To remove pork from my fork and my plate,

In other words…

I used to smoke cigarettes,
Morning, noon and night,
Didn’t mean it was good,
To burn windpipe,
And fill up my lungs and cough up green shit,
By the grace of God,
He helped me quit…

Not eating pork, isn’t a Muslim thing,
Like black folks associated,
With eating chicken wings,
As if we invented it,
Brought it to man,
That’s a God thing baby,
I’m just doing what I can,
That was sent from above aforetime,
Long ago,
I jumped on the bandwagon,
And let that pork go…

Is it true what they say,
Women serving their men,
And have lots of wives,
Like roosters with hens?

Research, the history of how it came about,
Simple minds assume they know,
Beyond a shadow of a doubt,
As if we behave recklessly,
Fornicating randomly,
Like we don’t know subconsciously,
Bout practicing our chastity...

These are basic things,
With whom we can all identify,
From a dark-skinned sista,
To a fly white guy,
We’re all simply human,
Unique individuals,
We make the world go round,
Like a boomerang,
Reciprocal…

Didn’t come here to preach,
About the Muslim religion,
Just shedding some light,
In hopes that this will be the beginning…

To the end of the questioning,
Bout why we’re all different,
Embrace the similarities,
And stop being ignorant…

Life’s fingerprint among many faces,
Hues and features,
Decorate different races,
Array of generations...
Timeless scope of the past,
Brought forth to the future,
Bloodlines that last…

Morally or cultural,
Even Geographical,
The beauty of our heritage,
Is even metaphysical,
Amazing, supernatural,
Its natural,
Theatrical,
The roles in life that we all play,
Significant in every way…

So, saturate and educate,
In hopes, these words will penetrate,
On consciences minds who have a voice,
Demonstrate we have a choice,

Accepting life’s diversity,
From babies to the elderly,
The only planet we call home,
Is everyone’s, free to roam.

When you see a Muslim,
Don’t dissect them in your mind,
Or fear they’re carrying a bomb,
Cuz a string’s hanging behind,

I understand the media has people really scared,
Directing all the focus,
From other evil deeds, elsewhere,

The worlds become a giant hood,
Political figures up to no good,
We’re all just trying to survive,
In this global genocide.

To the side,
With agendas to divide and conquer,
Menacing,
Rocking the cradle,
Mother Goosin’ us like bonkers,

Lullaby us with cell phones,
Walk around like clueless drones,
Pimped out in the Digital Age,
Our minds trapped in a virtual cage,

Preoccupied with InstaTwitterGram,
Bout gossip,
Instead of Poetry Slams,
Listening and building off consciousness,
Emotionally enraged bout this pompousness,
Formulating how to keep hope alive,
Spreading love, peace within this vibe…

I better chill for now,
Come back from my tangent,
Passionate about life,
I sit, cuz I can’t stand it,

We’ve come so far that,
Artificial is intelligent,
But the Genus got wiped out,
Wasn’t smart enough to reprogram it,
Society’s dissolving,
Backwardly evolving,
Wake up world and face this new day and age,
Unify,

Remain in a virtual cage.

Seeds of Life

Life can unexpectedly throw seeds in the midst of our journey, that either grow, sprout then die, or never fertilize at all.

In any case, learn every aspect of ups and downs regardless if it's in your favor or not.

Be thankful for what you have and don't have, what is to come and what is to go.

Life is what YOU make it, so cultivate it, and reap the rewards of your labor!

Trendy

Baby powder conspiracy,
Generations use it,
Found out it's not good for me,
But babies still promote it,

It's alright for needle shops to open up for users,
But forbidden to design a pill,
To heal abusers,

Black Friday and Christmas Day,
Made their way to Wall Street,
The news Announces spending trends,
In hopes last year was beat,

Social media,
Encyclopedia,
Goin' viral,
Eatin' gyros,

Crazy trends of,
Now and then,
Intelligent,
Or other than?

New Day

Let's make the most of today,
Put things behind,
Things that angered us,
From yesterday,
For tomorrow,
Leave behind,
Some pain and sorrow,
But for tomorrow,

Bring today,
Mistakes we made,
From yesterday..

Don't be bitter,
Just get better,
Move on with the wisdom treasures,
Of past endeavours,
A future tomorrow,
Of time, not took, or earned,
But borrowed.

Cold People, Cold World

Looks like these are the last days,
The words grown folks would always say,
They are here,
Or they're near,
So take precaution,
Soul washin'

Tie up loose ends,
Finish unfinished business,
Apologize to friends,
Why ill vibes ended up like this,

Pay respect to your elders,
Be kind to strangers,
They might be the only ones 'round,
To help when in danger,

Sign of the times,
Time is a sign,
Shows how fast we got here,
Future's next in line,

The futures next to now,
With gradual projections,
Virtual diseases,
Even doctors can't protect them.

Even government is shady against its own land,
When it tries to make laws for a racial band,

Media controlled lies of deception,
plaguing the viewer,
In strategic directions.

Life use to be happy, till I grew up,
To see that the world is really fucked up,
To know that protection was given to me,
By conscious minds in my family.

World peace is possible,
But who really wants it,
If you pick and choose bullies,
And help them to taunt it,

And beat it,
Abuse it,
For ego, or power,
Don' t you dare lose it,
In the media shower,

Setting the stage for reality TV,
Pointing fingers at others,
Claiming they're the enemy.

I love my country,
And don't hate others,
I only hate strangers who,
Harm innocent brothers,

And sisters, and mothers,
Fathers and all,
United we stand,
United we fall.

I hate the ones who blame a whole race,
When the nose as is wide,
As the one on my face,
When your lips are as thick,
As the ones on my face,
Riding on slave ships,
Staring at your forefathers face.

We're all connected in some human way,
Until hate is injected,
In a sickening way,

When will you see that it gets us nowhere,
No prize at the end,
Still, no one cares.

Hate is emotional cancer,
With hopes, it's in remission,
And stays away even when,
The ignorant petition.

We only have one life to live,
Let's spend it showing love,
Stop investing all your time,
Angering God above.
